Grant Hackett dropped by the Club and told us all about the Australian JX Program. JX stands for Junior Excellence!

"Thanks Webster and Tilly. I'm really pleased to be involved with such a great program.

The JX recognises, rewards and encourages children aged from 9 to 13 years who accomplish times set by Swimming Australia.

This year the program will also recognise the achievements of SWD and OWS children.

There are four levels of achievement: Gold, Silver, Bronze and Green.

Swimmers who qualify for the JX will receive the following recognition and rewards:

·    a special JX cap (9-10 years) or a special JX shirt (11-13 years);

·    a certificate of achievement signed by the National Youth Coach and me;

·    a motivational poster featuring elite Australian swimmers;

·    publication of their name on the Swimming Australia website; and

·    where possible, an invitation to forums or clinics, with presentations by elite swimmers and coaches and other leading sports professionals

OnOnly times that are swum at Qualifying Meets can be used for the JX. We'll be sending out to clubs mid-April all the JX caps, shirts and other material for their JX qualifiers. Swimmers selected in State or National development squads are not eligible for the JX."

Thanks Grant! The JX program sounds fantastic! There are also some fantastic prizes available for Queensland JX kids. When the list of the JX qualifiers is finalised at the end of March, all Queensland swimmers on the list will have the chance to win great Zoggs prizes. 80 winners will be drawn from the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Green groups of swimmers (20 from each group).
